And in Conclusion........

This resume sheds a light on not only Lorraine’s past work experience but how she see’s herself. The silhouetted pictured of her included in the resume is like a look into her . Eyes are said to be the windows of the soul and the image is a powerful one.  The flyer highlights the kind of call to action that doesn’t require marching or physical work. Instead it put emphasis on you being apart of the Earth Day movement. With reaching hands its as if the community is in pursuit of the earth to take care of it . The theme of the brochure project was to highlight a few of Buffalo’s own black businesses, and boy did this design hit the mark. With so many businesses to choose from, the chosen were well highlighted and showcased in this design. With the African American flag as the background it ties into the black business theme. This postcard highlights Lorraine’s love for travel. Without even reading the bio you can tell just from the picture of the airplane that this is the context of ...

The Elements.... and I'm not talking about Earth, Wind, and Fire... or Am I?

There’s a saying that says home is where the heart is. When thinking of home most people think about their physical homes where they get their mail and lay their heads. However, its much deeper than that. The true home where everyone resides is Earth. It is hardly ever thought of “home”, but it’s technically the global home of every human being. So much is done to make our living here on Earth comfortable: for example, building of nice homes, manufacturing of luxury cars, cultivating of the best foods, and the use of the best minerals and raw materials to make the best clothes.                 Has anyone ever thought about what can be done to preserve the Earth? The very land we use to make a comfortable living. Taking care of home means taking care of the Earth, having a heart, and conserving the Earth’s natural resources include air, water, soil, minerals, plants, and animals. Air and water poll...

If she Black …. She poppin… havin her back is the only Option

To make up   roughly 36% of the US female population, but being the most underrated , unappreciated, and unprotected . To be desired, but to never be fully loved or supported.   To be one with the universe and help build the nation. Only to be treated as if we’re a burden. The black woman is a beautiful, divine, and wonderfully made human being, yet her beauty and strength go unrewarded. Sometimes, discarded, and even ignored. Society has labeled her difficult, aggressive, and “manly”. With these unwarranted labels there’s no wonder why she must wake up every day, put that s on her chest, and cape on her back. This then leads to the black woman superhero syndrome that develops in the mind. The one that says you must excel, and are obligated to manifest strength, obligated to suppress emotions, resist being vulnerable or dependent, succeed and help others despite limited resources. There is a need for support of the black women because she more than just her skin. In 20...

You're Hired ! On Second thought.. You're Fired !

Tell me something about yourself?   Does this question sound familiar?  They say you're the product you're supposed to be selling when it comes to resume, but how do you do it? There is a right and wrong way to let a potential employer know just who you are, your experience, and why you are the right person for the job. Your resume should include your contact information such as your name, number, and email address. In addition to this you should list your educational background, employment history, and skills you possess that are relevant to the job you are seeking. Some resumes go so far as to list awards and certifications you may have received, and a small profile that provides insight into who you are as a candidate for employment. If you have received many accolades, and are comfortable with including a profile, then do so. However, this is not mandatory. Depending on the type of job you are seeking, they say its more than ok to thin...
